The main attraction in Chamonix is a famous cable car up to the Aiguille du Midi (3842 m). The peak which is almost 3 000 m over Chamonix burst the unforgettable views on the valley, Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, and located just below the peak plateau Col du Midi, with the glaciers of Géant and the Vallée Blanche. The second glacier is known for ( unprepared ) a spectacular run from Aiguille du Midi down to Chamonix. The 20 km route may take a whole day, as there are necessary stops on the way, like for a rerfreshment in the refuge Requin-Hutte.

There are four main ski areas aorund Chamonix, unfortunately connected only by skibus lines in the valley.

The slopes of Les Grands Montets area are located near the Argentiere glacier, and due to altitude the skiing is possible till the first days of May.
The area offers tremendous on and off-piste possibilities , there is a new snowpark opened at the mid-station of Logan.

Le Brévent and La Flégère are at present linked by a cable car, thus consist a single area facing Mont Blanc offering the splendid panorama of the highest Alpine peaks.
Le Brévent mountain features some steep downhill runs, while the slopes of La Flégère give more time to admire the surrounding views, but also has some demanding runs to Les Paz.

Domaine de Balme is accessed from the villages of Le Tour and Vallorcine, and there are gentle slopes overlooking the entire Chamonix valley, perfect for family skiing.

Located at the south end of the valley, Les Houches features intermediate runs hidden partiallly within the trees, which makes it a good area for skiing in bad weather conditons.

Besides traditional downhill runs and cross country trails, Chamonix valley offers plethora of winter possibilities like ski touring, free-ride, ice climbing, and paragliding.

The old alpine buildings around thee town Chamonix hide numerous restaurants, bars, wellness and spa centers, and more sport activities, indoor pools, tennis courts, or a climbing wall.
