For over a hundred years St. Moritz has inspired the way of development of younger ski resorts not only in the Alps, but even as far as in the exotic centre Ski Dubai, which features the wooden building modelled on Swiss refugee. The age, renome and tradition did not slowed the popularity of the modern ski resort, which at present competes for hosting Alpine Word Cup in 2017.

Already Engadin St. Moritz hosted four Alpine World Cup competitions, two Winter Olympic games, and witnessed hundreds of other events on snow, and during the summer, as the warm months melt the ice on the frozen lakes in the neigbourhood of the town.
The splendid panorama of the lakes and mountain peaks surrounding Engandin Valley awards the visitors of Muottas Muragl who can reach the peak by comfortable cable car from the town level. The slopes of Muottas Muragl are perfect for skiing, but their only disadvantage are much more popular neighbours : Corviglia, Corvatsch and Diavolezza.
At the altitude of over 3 000 m the summit station in Corvatsch is the highest station in the eastern Alps, its shape is present on vast number of postcards, posters and sometimes appears in the movies [.]. The ski area features also the longest night downhill run in Switzeland.
Corviglia brings the most of the ski resort, panoramic views, gondola and funicular lifts supporting World Cup quality downhill runs at height starting just below 3000 m.
But the skiers, who want to find the new challenges, should test the skills on ‘Corn of Diavolezza’ icycles, and other glacier downhill routes.
The total lenght of runs in Engadin St. Moritz exceeds 350 km. The highest starting point is at 3303 m , and the runs end at the level of the town 1750 m.
