Megeve

In : France

Arguably the nicest ski resorts in the Alps features the subtle slopes within the coniferous forests under the majestic peak of Mont Blanc.
The beauty of a place is also its weakest point, as Megeve lies at altitude about 1100 m, and the first lifts start below level of 1000 m, the winter season lasts relatively short period, from mid December to mid April, and it may be a shortage of snow at the opening, jet the snow cannons make this problem almost vanishing.

Megeve has been created as the French response to St.Moritz, and since the beginning it has the label of the resort for rich and famous. The first hotel here has been opened in 1921 by Rotshild family starting the tradition of winter holidays in Megeve.
Three mountains around Megeve consist the ski area ‘Domaine Évasion Montblanc’ and include four zones, Rochebrune/Cote 2000, Saint-Gervais/Saint-Nicolas de Veroce, Combloux/Jaillet/La Giettaz and Jaillet/Christomet.

There are the slopes for advanced skiers and also family runs. Two large freeride zones, well maintained snowpark, 120m and 100m halfpipes promise the endless fun for snowboarders.
The area of Megeve is also perfect for cross-country skiing, with over 100 km of trails of different difficulty and at different altitude, the highest run Prarion is located at 1900m a.s.l.

Winter does not stop even the activities traditionally devoted for the warmer seasons.
‘Megève Polo Masters’ is an unique polo on snow tournament, and ‘Snow Golf Cup’ brings the experience of the new surface to challenge.

90 restaurants (eight with Michelin stars), cafés and patisseries make the local villages the epicurean apres-ski center with nice shops and wellness centers to choose from.
