Located at the feet of Gamskogel mountain ( 2188 m ) the village Zauchensee offers perfect slopes for skiers of all experience levels. With its altitude of 1 350 m it is the highest resort in the large ski area Salzburger Sportworld, and bears also the name World Cup Village, due to a great training area featuring yearly FIS ski competitions held on legendary run Kälberloch descending from Gamskogel right to the first buildings of the village.

The skiers can also challenge the longest run in the area – 5km long Mooskopfabfart with 960 m in descent. Besides the advanced runs, the ski resort offers the training centre on Kogelalm with three wide slopes good for both skiers and snowboarder : Rodeo Drive, Larkpipe and The Wave. Here the amateurs can imporove their skills training in professional conditions.
The slopes start right near the Zauchensee buildings, many of them are of 4 star hotels featuring wellness centres and restaurants, the visitors can find many of apre-ski places here and in nearby town Altenmarkt.
Among the other activities in Zauchenesee popular are hose sledging, snow walking and skating on the local rink in Sport Centre. Cross-country skiers can follow 20 km of difficult run Zauchenseeloipe ( 856 m – 1 350 m ).
The ski resort Zauchensee Skiparadis covers the pisteses around three villages in separate valleys: Zauchensee, Flachauwinkl, Kleinarl, but many of the skiers get the advantage of locaion and ski on other slopes in nearby resorts joined together in Salzburger Sportworld, the powerful ski area with over 300 km of slops located on the Alps near Salzburg. Zauchensee is only about 70 km from Salzburg and 200 km from Munich.
